This shoot started as a Model Mayhem casting call by the hairdresser, Rachael Beauty, who wanted to showcase her use of the hairsticks. She wanted a natural, outdoor "woodsy" feel to the images. I quickly signed on as the photographer, and two terrific models joined us: Karen Maiko and Lauren Boyette, as well as the MUA: Melissa Hibbert.
Franklin Canyon park was a great location to shoot at. I have never been to this park before (even though I grew up and lived in this part of Los Angeles for most of my life!) We met at the park on a gorgeous sunny afternoon. The light was great and Rachael was kind enough to assist me by holding the reflector, which helped light these amazing images of Karen.
Here are some more images from this shoot. We did not have a lot of time to scout out locations, but still came out with great images!
And of course, no blog entry is complete with at least some behind-the-scenes shots. So, here are Karen Maiko and Rachael Beauty preparing for the second part of the shoot. In closing, I have to thank Rachael for setting everything up, following up with everyone and generally being extremely professional on this project. Thanks everyone for a great shoot!
